APPLICATION : The grab different limit switch is driven by holding and closing winches is used in auxiliary circuits for single lever grab control.It is used for stopping the closing motor after closing or opening, regardless of the height of the grab, and starting the holding motor, after closing, for transition to the hoisting action, as well as for stopping the holding and closing motors at the highest and lowest grab positions.
CONSTRUCTION : The switch contains six cam operated switch elements which are used as auxiliary circuit limit switches (see switching sequence diagram). The dimension drawing shows that the switch has two shafts which must be driven by the holding and closing winches.The contacts of limit switches are 40 amps rated at 500VA C.The limit switches are designed for heavy duty application housed in IP-54 degree of Protection. The housing is made of Cast Iron base & cover.The base and cover both have machined surface to protect against dirt and dust.
"OMEGA CONTROLS" Rotary Geared Limit Switches are used on control and power circuits of reversing drives so as to limit their rotation/movement within a predetermined position. The function of the Limit Switch is to stop the mechanism or drive at the extreme forward/reverse positions. The Limit Switches are particularly suited for use on reversing drives such as hoist, winches, rolling mills and various other mechanisms used in steel plants such as coke ovens, feeding machinery, valve drives etc. The contacts of Limit Switches are 40 amps rated continuously at 500 Volts A. C. The Limit switch can be provided with 2 NC contacts or 4 NC contacts or (2 NO + 2 NC) contacts as per the requirement. For Series Limit Switches are shields are provided. The frequency of switching of each contact is suitable for maximum 720 operations per hour. The speed of the driving shaft rotation should not be more than 60 RPM.
